ABA is considered an “evidence-based” practice, meaning that there is enough research evidence showing that is it an effective and useful treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders. Research has proven that ABA is the only intervention practice for individuals with autism.Early Years ABA provides individualized behavioral therapy based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).The methods and strategies we use have been scientifically proven to benefit children with social, communication, and behavioral challenges, including autism. We work together with you and your child to provide the highest quality of care.
How Does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which is based on the science of learning and behavior, uses a systematic approach to helping people develop and learn. The principles of ABA can be applied in many areas to help your child, such as (but not limited to) increasing language and communication, improving social and play skills, increasing adaptive/functional skills such as toileting, dressing, feeding, and reducing maladaptive behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, or other dangerous behaviors.
There are many strategies that fall under the ABA umbrella, such as Natural Environment Training, Incidental Teaching, Discrete Trial Instruction, Verbal Behavior, and Pivotal Response Training. At Early Years, all the strategies and approaches we use for your child are based on your child's needs.
Early Years provides in home services to individuals that require an in-home ABA program. We will work with your family to design a schedule that meets the therapeutic needs of your child. Treatment plans may focus on increasing social-communication skills, decreasing maladaptive behaviors, and increasing independence in daily living skills. Since peer interactions are important for children's growth and development, we will work with you to explore options such as play groups, preschools, or center based programs.
For home based services, a caregiver must be present in the home at all times. If your child is in daycare, preschool, or another private school setting, Early Years can work with your family and school to develop an individualized treatment plan based on the needs identified in our assessment.
If your insurance plan covers ABA, the program would most likely be covered under the benefit. We can help you to determine if your plan covers the services.
