ABA Works!

What is ABA?

ABA is considered an “evidence-based” practice, meaning that there is enough research evidence showing that is it an effective and useful treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders. Research has proven that ABA is the only intervention practice for individuals with autism.Early Years ABA provides individualized behavioral therapy based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).The methods and strategies we use have been scientifically proven to benefit children with social, communication, and behavioral challenges, including autism. We work together with you and your child to provide the highest quality of care.

How Does ABA work?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which is based on the science of learning and behavior, uses a systematic approach to helping people develop and learn.  The principles of ABA can be applied in many areas to help your child, such as (but not limited to) increasing language and communication, improving social and play skills, increasing adaptive/functional skills such as toileting, dressing, feeding, and reducing maladaptive behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, or other dangerous behaviors.

There are many strategies that fall under the ABA umbrella, such as Natural Environment Training, Incidental Teaching, Discrete Trial Instruction, Verbal Behavior, and Pivotal Response Training.  At Early Years, all the strategies and approaches we use for your child are based on your child's needs.

In-Home and Center Based Services

Early Years provides center-based, in-home, and community services for individuals with Autism. We partner with your family to create a schedule that supports your child’s therapeutic needs. Treatment plans may focus on increasing social-communication skills, reducing maladaptive behaviors, and promoting independence in daily living skills.

Because peer interaction is essential to children’s growth and development, we will work with you to explore opportunities such as playgroups.

For in-home services, a caregiver must be present in the home at all times. If your child attends daycare, preschool, or another private school, Early Years can collaborate with your family and the school to develop an individualized treatment plan based on the needs identified during our assessment.

What is a BCBA?

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a master’s or doctoral-level clinician who specializes in behavior analysis.

  • BCBAs conduct assessments, design individualized treatment plans, and oversee therapy programs.
  • They train and supervise RBTs and other team members to make sure treatment is effective and consistent.
  • BCBAs also work closely with families, providing parent training and progress updates.

Think of your BCBA as the team leader and clinical expert, ensuring that every step of your child’s program is evidence-based and tailored to their needs.

What is a BCBA?

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who works directly with your child under the supervision of a BCBA.

  • RBTs provide one-on-one therapy sessions, using the techniques outlined in your child’s treatment plan.
  • They help children practice skills like communication, daily living, play, and social interaction.
  • RBTs also collect data during each session so the BCBA can monitor progress and adjust goals as needed.

Think of your RBT as your child’s day-to-day coach, supporting skill-building and celebrating wins along the way.

When behavioral challenges stand in the way of your child’s progress, we provide the support they need to move forward with confidence.
